What AI does here

The app does not send your notes to an outside AI service to write or summarize them. Most features work without a signal. If you sign in, your notes and media are copied to our backup server; see the Privacy Policy. Voice transcription can also use Apple’s servers when on-device recognition is unavailable, as described below.

It doesn’t write for you

It won’t finish your sentences, suggest what to put down, or hand back a summary of your notes in words you didn’t use. Every word on your wall is one you put there.

Not training data

Nothing you write, draw or record is used to train a model — ours or anyone else’s.

Voice memos

Transcribed with Apple’s speech recognition, which turns what you said into text without adding to it. It runs on the phone when the phone can do it; where it can’t — some older devices and some languages — the audio goes to Apple to be transcribed.

Why it’s drawn this way

The blank space is the part that does the work. Anything that filled it in for you would be doing the one bit worth doing yourself.
